MARK THE BAND'S 60TH ANNIVERSARY WITH THE RELEASE OF THE ALBUM CARRY ME
A DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION
RELEASED 25 NOVEMBER
First album since Judith Durham's passing in August 2022.
A decade since their record-breaking Golden Jubilee album, which has sold more than 95,000 units
Includes the supergroup's final studio recording, the title track 'Carry Me'.
Australia's first 'supergroup', The Seekers, are proud to announce the forthcoming release of their album Carry Me, marking the band's Diamond Jubilee and the first album since the sad passing of long-time lead singer Judith Durham in August this year.
Carry Me will be released on 25 November on Decca Australia as a 3-CD set, and is a personally selected and curated collection of The Seekers' greatest hits – sixty epoch-making songs, including the band's final studio recording, the eponymous 'Carry Me', written by Bruce Woodley.
In the wake of Judith's passing, Carry Me is intended as a celebration. This December marks 60 years since the band's four iconic members – Judith Durham, Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy – first performed together in a music café of Melbourne.
Since that consequential December evening in 1962, The Seekers enjoyed a career most musicians could only dream of: They reached No. 1 on the UK charts with their first three singles; the first Australian group to reach No. 1 in USA with Georgy Girl (nominated for an Academy Award as Best Original Song), and in 1965, their third single The Carnival Is Over outsold everyone including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. It is ranked No. 6 in the Top 20 best-selling singles of the 60s on the Official UK Chart. They were jointly and severally named ‘Australians of The Year 1967’. They were the only concert artists to ever draw a crowd of more than 200,000 people to a concert in the southern hemisphere, and they received a record-breaking TV rating for their 1967 TV spectacular ‘The Seekers Down Under’.
Included in the 3-CD set and digital album, which spans the breadth of their career, are reminiscences and recollections from Athol, Keith and Bruce, as well as their personal favourite Seekers songs, everything from the universally loved 'I’ll Never Find Another You' and 'Morningtown Ride' to the lesser known 'The Water is Wide' and the festive 'When A Child is Born'.
Carry Me will be released on 25 November on Decca Australia.

Official Media Release
It is with overwhelming sadness that Musicoast Pty. Ltd. and Universal Music Australia announce the death of international music legend Judith Durham, aged 79.
After a brief stay in the Alfred Hospital, Judith was admitted to Palliative Care on Friday 5 August, where she passed away peacefully that evening. Her death was a result of complications from a long-standing chronic lung disease.
In making the announcement, Judith’s biographer and The Seekers management team member Graham Simpson said: “This is a sad day for Judith’s family, her fellow Seekers, the staff of Musicoast, the music industry and fans worldwide, and all of us who have been part of Judith’s life for so long.”
Judith’s beloved sister Beverley Sheehan spoke of the closeness they shared throughout life, including their love of music. “Judith’s joy for life, her constant optimism, creativity and generosity of spirit were always an inspiration to me.”
Judith’s nephew Tony Sheehan – speaking for his brother Ben and sister Belinda - said, “We have been blessed to share our lives with her.”
On behalf of Keith Potger AO and Bruce Woodley AO, Athol Guy AO said, “Our lives are changed forever losing our treasured lifelong friend and shining star. Her struggle was intense and heroic - never complaining of her destiny and fully accepting its conclusion. Her magnificent musical legacy Keith, Bruce and I are so blessed to share.”
George Ash, President, Universal Music Australia and New Zealand said: “Great artists become part of our fabric and our extended family, and Judith Durham was no exception. She was a force of nature, constantly energised with a passion for music and life. We were all privileged to have known Judith and heard her heavenly voice. We are deeply saddened by her passing and will miss her dearly.”
Cyrus Meher-Homji, OAM, Senior Vice President, Classics & Jazz at Universal Music Australia and New Zealand said: “How would a five-year-old understand the message and spirit of The Carnival Is Over? Perhaps not, but that is the age at which I first encountered Judith Durham and The Seekers, and I was entranced. In 2011, we at Universal Music Australia were lucky enough to sign Judith Durham to Decca Australia, at which time Judith wrote of her happiness, knowing that ‘the Universal/Decca family now also hold on to my dream and mission to uplift and bring happiness to music fans around the world’. High above, the dawn awaits you, Judith. Your artistry will forever be enshrined in our souls.”
We wish to acknowledge and thank the dedicated team of doctors and nurses at Alfred Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
Judith’s family has asked for privacy at this time.

Four months after the sold-out success of The Seekers’ Golden Jubilee ‘Farewell’ Tour of Australia in late 2013, the group and their team reconvened to do it all again in the United Kingdom in 2014, winding their way through Wales, Scotland and England with a 15-date sold-out tour.
When Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley took to the stage for the last time, the audience was on its feet clapping and cheering for several minutes before they even sang a note.
Far from any sense of sadness or regret, the mood on this tour was one of celebration and appreciation, both for the group and their loyal fans.
This historic Album & DVD marks the final time that Australian music phenomenon The Seekers toured in the country where their global success story began.
The DVD 'Live In The UK' contains a never-before-seen 30-min interview with all four members of The Seekers, reminiscing about their hit songs and previous tours around the world.
