The Seekers Inducted Into The Age Music Victoria Hall Of Fame

The Seekers were yesterday announced as The Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame 10th Anniversary Inductees!
The join a list of famous Victorian music industry heavyweights being recognised in this special way - AC/DC, Bill Armstrong, John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, Palais Theatre,
Archie Roach, Stan Rofe, Sunbury Festival and The Thunderbirds.
On behalf of The Seekers, Athol Guy said today, "As a homegrown musical product of Melbourne's fantastic jazz and folk generation in the early Sixties, to conquering the pop world of mid-Sixties London – what happened for The Seekers was unimaginable. But it did happen!
“How was that possible? It was the songs! Fifty years on, those songs are now standards, and we’re still together to be able to bring them to life. What a precious miracle it is for the four of us … and what an honour it is to be recognised in this way by Music Victoria.”
The Seekers attended a media conference today the Melbourne’s Palais Theatre where, after facing the cameras, they joined their fellow inductees for a private lunch.
The Hall of Fame inductions will be celebrated with a special concert to be held at The Palais Theatre on Friday, 20 November. Performing on the night will be John Farnham, Archie Roach, Kate Ceberano, Brian Cadd, Normie Rowe, Colleen Hewett, Vika Bull, Angie Hart and Mark Seymour … with more to be confirmed.
$5.00 from every ticket sold will be donated to the event’s charity partner, Support Act Limited, to help musicians in need. Tickets go on sale at 9.00am on Monday, 19 June, 2015.
